About

Organized in 1999, the purpose of the New Hanover Township Historical Society is to preserve the history, lore, and heritage of New Hanover Township.

The society provides programs on its work to small groups and is actively planning workshops on local folk life and culture. The Historical Society offers special programs on mid-19th century home and rural-life skills for school students and other interested groups.

In addition to special events, regular programs and meetings of the society are held at 7:00 p.m. at the Swamp Creek School House bimonthly throughout the temperate period of the year.  The programs are usually comprised of presentations by speakers about various topics on local history.  All events are open to non-members as well.

New Hanover Township Historical Society, Inc., is registered under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Tax Code.  All contributions are fully deductible.
